Band History (1993-1994)

A long, long time ago... (Mid-1993)

Jason and Mike jam on guitars in Jason's room at his grandmother's
house. Several songs were recorded on a boom box, including early
versions of "Dime" (used to be an acoustic song!) and "The
Harpoon Song" (originally titled Harpoon Me). We called ourselves
"Yellow No. 5"

Early Spring 1994

Jason and Mike team up with John Hackworth, forming the band
"Inudian" with John on bass, Jason on drums, and Mike on guitar
and vocals. Garrett Fabian was to be our sound man /
photographer. First practice was on 3/17/94. Inudian plays an
ill-fated few minute concert at Meadville High School, and breaks up.

Late Spring / Early Summer (May?) 1994

Jason and Mike, along with Derek Raybeck and Marc Phelps, play a tribute
concert in memory of Kurt Cobain at MASH after school.

Early Summer 1994

Jason and Mike team up with drummer Marc Phelps, practicing often
at Marc's house. Band becomes known as "Alsation Dog." Early
versions of "Devo Blues", "Marmalaid", and "In Controle" put
together.

Summer 1994

Alsation Dog plays several shows at the Grind and Squeeze coffee
house in Edinboro, PA, building interest in the band. AD plays
opposite another band at the Meadville Area Rec Complex for a
"summer splash pool party."

July 29, 1994

Marc announces he has a play the same night as one of our Grind
and Squeeze coffee house gigs, and he'll be late. Jason suggests
our mutual friend and drummer Steve Gramley to sit in on drums.
The show progresses smoothly, and Marc arrives, but lets Steve
continue to play the show. Following the show, Jason kicks Marc
out. Steve officially becomes our drummer.

September 11, 1994

After many rehersals, and a few name changes, the newly-named
"Poseur" records mostly complete versions of most of their original
songs on Jason's boom box. By this time, the band is really coming together.

Winter 1994

"Poseur" becomes "Yellow No. 5" again. Grind and Squeeze coffee house
closes down, leaving us gigless. Still, we practice often, hoping...
