I am the captain of this ship, I am the pilot of this plane
I am the captain of this ship, I am the pilot of this plane
We are cruising at an altitude of zero feet
And if you look out of your window, there's nothing to see
I
I used to fly
Way up
Way up in the sky
In the sky
I am the captain of this ship, I am the pilot of this plane
And if you'd like to know a little bit about me, I'm insane
There'll be some turbulence, we're flying right into a storm
Just put your faith in me, I'll get you home
I
I used to fly
Way up
Way up in the sky
In the sky
I am the captain of this ship, I am the pilot of this plane
I am the pilot of this ship, I am the captain of this plane
I only took this job to make some extra cash
I needed money to buy lawn ornaments
I
I used to fly
Way up
Way up in the sky
In the sky
Lyrics: Jaeson Music: Jaeson, Mike This is one of the earliest Yellow No. 5 songs, and is one of the most popular with audiences. Jaeson once described the song as being about someone who believes that they are in control of a situation, and refuses to believe otherwise, even if they never had control to begin with. The original recording of Jaeson playing the song into a boom box was very Nirvana influenced and had a large middle section of feedback/noise guitar and mumbled lyrics. Note: The song title is purposly misspelled. This was Jaeson's idea, and I forget why, but it stuck and we've spelled it that way ever since.
